Garden Route Safari Camp is a privately owned and operated Game Lodge within close proximity to Mossel Bay.

This malaria free reserve is home to eland, zebra, blue wildebeest, nyala, impala, ostrich, greater kudu, waterbuck, bontebok, southern giraffe, an abundance of birdlife and incredible flora.

Nestled in a valley next to the Matjiespoort River, between the majestic Langeberg and Outeniqua Mountains and within close proximity to the unspoilt Indian Ocean, an easy 20 minute drive from George Airport and mere 10 minute drive to Mossel Bay, makes this one of the most accessible Garden Route Safari lodges.

Garden Route Safari Camp is famous for their Walk with Giraffes, a most unique experience. There are also morning and evening Game Drives with very knowledgeable guides, breakfast set up on the bush as well as sundowners on the hilltop with sprawling views.

Accommodation consists of luxury Safari Tents, Family Lodge Rooms as well as an exclusive self-catering Safari Villa. All boast magnificent views over the reserve. This is a family-friendly Garden Route Game Lodge, accepting children from four years of age.

The Main Lodge houses the restaurant with indoor & outdoor seating arrangements, a fully stocked bar plus various indoor lounge/relaxation areas. There is a swimming pool and outdoor boma area for guests staying in the Safari Tents or Family Lodge Rooms; the Villa has its own swimming pool.

All accommodation is luxurious. There are 4 Safari Tents, 2 Family Lodge Rooms and 1 Safari Villa.

Luxury Safari Tents: Perfect for couples, sleeps max 2 each. King size or Twin (two 3/4) beds. Roll away for 1 child available upon request. Open-air en-suite bathroom with double vanities, indoor & outdoor showers. Indoor seating and writing desk with tea & coffee station. Hairdryer. Safe. Gowns & slippers. Opens onto private deck with seating arrangements and sprawling views over the reserve. 

Luxury Family Lodge Rooms: Perfect for friends or family, sleeps max 4 each. King bed downstairs with Twin beds in the loft room upstairs. Additional bed for 3rd child sharing available upon request. Double storey – downstairs is an open-plan room with Queen size bed, indoor seating and writing desk with tea & coffee station, double vanities, en-suite with walk-in shower and seperate toilet. Upstairs is a separate loft room with Twin beds. Hairdryer. Safe. Gowns & slippers. Opens onto private deck with seating arrangements and garden views. Nearby the main lodge. 

Your stay is either on Half-Board of Full Board basis, if the latter it includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner as well as two game activities per day. Various other packages are on offer – Enquire Now!

Luxury Safari Villa: Perfect for group of friends, a family or golfers seeking more privacy and self-catering. Set apart, down the road from the Main Lodge. Upstairs unit. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms, sleeps max 6. Master bedroom with King size bed and open-plan bathroom with large walk-in double shower and luxurious oval bath with views, double vanities and seperate toilet. Second bedroom with Queen size bed, en-suite with shower. Third bedroom with Queen size bed, seperate bathroom with shower. Swimming pool. Open-plan lounge and dining room with indoor fireplace and large flat-screen TV. Equipped kitchenette with dishwasher – meals can be booked additional, to enjoy either at the Villa or Main Lodge. Built-in braai. Hairdryer. Safe. Gowns & slippers. Opens onto private deck with seating arrangements, sunloungers and sprawling views over the reserve. Note, the owners live in the downstairs and adjacent units.

COMMUNAL AREAS:

The Main Lodge consists of the reception, various lounge/relaxation areas, restaurant with indoor & outdoor seating arrangements as well as a bar. A separate ‘Bush Boma’ is great for social nights under the famous African skyline & stars.

The Restaurant serves delicious home-made Breakfasts, Lunches, High Teas & Dinners.

A residents-only swimming pool is centrally located to the Safari Tents and Family Room and overlooks the river banks. The Villa has a private swimming pool.
