A Week-End @ Sea Breeze

I spent a most wonderful week-end with family & friends at the stunning Wilderness Beachfront Holiday House, Sea Breeze Villa.

Being one of Hello Garden Route’s exclusively managed properties, it was great to experience first-hand what our guests do. Even after just the first night, I clearly understood why this property is so popular and why we have so many repeat and referral visitors.

We arrived late Friday and immediately put the fire on for a sunset braai with a view. It was family night with my mother, aunt and 86-year-old grandfather as well as my bestie and her family. My girls aka doggies joined in too, of course 🙂 Lots of laughs, lots of relaxing, great food, fantastic company and unbeatable setting. The sought-after location and views are what sells this property: Nestled at the end of a cul-da-sac road in the secure Wilderness Garden Estate, offering privacy, endless ocean vistas all around plus direct beach access. It’s a tranquil haven on Wilderness Beach. This is indeed #ThePlaceToBe

Added perks include the sea-facing swimming pool, upstairs and downstairs balconies with sunloungers and other outdoor seating arrangements, 4 bedrooms (3 sea-facing, all en-suite), 2 indoor fireplaces, underfloor heating, wifi and DStv, spacious interior, stylish African décor plus all the mod-cons one can expect from an upmarket, luxurious holiday villa.

Note: Sea Breeze is a family & pet (upon request) friendly property. Although not certified, it is wheel-chair friendly as well if staying in the upstairs Master Suite.

I was in an absolutely bliss-filled state falling asleep to the soothing sound of the ocean and waking up to the sight of dolphins passing by. What more could one want?

My friends arrived Saturday afternoon for yet another braai (we are proudly South Africans). Catching the late afternoon sun, we headed down to the beach. Admittedly, there are quite a few stairs down and (seems like) even more going back up but it’s totally worth it! The beach is mostly uninhibited with fishermen scattered here and there, the odd couple taking a leisurely stroll. It’s tricky to access from elsewhere, making it almost a ‘private’ beach for residents staying in the estate. My dogs loved the freedom of running and playing without any other 4-legged ‘strangers’ tackling them from the sidelines.

Saturday evening was yet another picture-perfect night watching the sun set on the horizon, enjoying a social around the braai and ending off next to the indoor fireplace, before retreating for another bliss-filled state of slumber.

Another holi-day was on the cards for Sunday. We were supposed to leave but couldn’t…Sea Breeze Villa was just too good, just to perfect, to say bye just yet. Brunch served up my master chef Chris who was surrounded and kept entertained by a bunch of lovely ladies (lucky man!) followed by a most lazy day soaking up the sun outside, waving to paragliders and hangliders soaring by (they got pretty close – this is a local hotspot, great thermals coming off the dune), sights of whales again and again (with it being whale season in South Africa, they – and we – were loving it!), finally retreating indoors to watch movies all night long. The ideal way to restore our energies to face reality…as of…tomorrow. And that it was!
